The agreement is expected to be in place by the end of the year.

There is a shortage of bus drivers in the country. Therefore, the City of Stockholm has signed a job agreement with the bus company Nobina so that more people will train for the profession. – We want more people to dare to train as bus drivers and you are guaranteed a job after 22 weeks, Karin Wanngård (S), Mayor of Finance.


Over 5,000 bus drivers are missing in Sweden and in Stockholm the need for new drivers is between 600 – 800.

The goal of the agreement and the collaboration is to attract more people to the bus profession, according to Karin Wanngård (S).

Martin Pawgrotsky, CEO of Nobina, says this is gratifying.

"We have a public transport industry that is growing. We are in great need of new drivers and we hope that this rapid training will attract more people to the profession, he says.
