Police action at Rådhustorget in Gävle - one person injured

A police operation is underway at Rådhustorget in Gävle after a man was found seriously injured by a police patrol. A preliminary investigation has been launched into serious assault or attempted murder. An area is cordoned off and the majority of police officers and police cars are at the scene.

A person was found at 18.22 by a police patrol badly injured, RLC commander Viktor Åkring-Dicksved tells SVT.

- He has been taken by ambulance to hospital and is being operated on right now, says Viktor Åkring-Dicksved.

A witness tells SVT that a person was lying on the ground with a bleeding wound in the neck when the police arrived at the scene.

SVT is seeking information about the incident.
