NATO has confirmed plans to hold a meeting of the North Atlantic Council on May 22, Friday, in connection with a unilateral decision by the United States to leave the Open Skies Treaty.

This was reported by TASS with reference to an employee of the organization’s press service.

NATO headquarters also noted that they were concerned about the alleged "selective application of this treaty by Russia."

On May 21, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty.

The decision takes effect after six months.
