McGregor rode pedal boats with the Princess of Monaco

Olympic champion in London 2012 in rhythmic gymnastics Karolina Sevastyanova had to explain herself for a photo with ex-UFC fighter Conor McGregor in Monaco. The athlete's Instagram followers complained about her too frivolous, in their opinion, a picture with a married man: in the photo, McGregor demonstrates biceps and presses the Russian woman with his other hand. In response to criticism, the 25-year-old athlete noticed that she approached the mixed martial arts star with her boyfriend, while the Irishman himself was with his wife.

In Monaco, McGregor closely communicates with another eminent athlete in the past - 42-year-old Princess Charlene of Monaco. She was a professional swimmer and represented the South African national team at the 2000 Sydney Games. Recently the fighter and the princess took a ride on water bicycles. And in September they plan to embark on a 180-kilometer tour.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of water safety. McGregor called his partner "a phenomenal athlete and an Olympian." He thanked the wife of Prince Albert II for the "great day" for his family and admitted that he could not wait for the journey to begin.

Torpedo fans took the seats from the stadium in Vostochnaya

Last Sunday, Torpedo fans bid farewell to the legendary Eduard Streltsov stadium on Vostochnaya Street, which many called the last fragment of old football Moscow. Anyone who wished could take with them a chair from the Western Stand. Moreover, experienced black and white fans had the opportunity to pick up exactly those seats from which they watched the game of their idols for many years. According to Vasily Petrakov, the head of the car factory fan club, at the request of the family of the tragically deceased fan Alexander Duduev, his favorite chair was handed over to the children.

It was officially announced that the stadium would be closed for renovation. However, in reality, it will be completely demolished at the end of this year. Immediately after dismantling the structures, the contractors plan to start building a new arena. It is going to be opened for the 100th anniversary of Torpedo in 2024. The sports facility will be surrounded by residential buildings.

Thus, the Vostochnaya stadium existed in its usual form for a little less than 60 years. Its opening took place on September 7, 1960. It was originally used as a training base for the ZIL football team. The torpedo team played the first match of the USSR championship here in 1977. Over the years, the cozy stadium in Vostochnaya has been the home arena of Spartak and Moscow and a place for training for the Russian national team. And the Russian youth team in 2006 held the best meeting in their history on the banks of the Moskva River, defeating Portugal in the playoff qualification for Euro 2007 (4: 1).

Ufa athlete swam 250 km in support of children

An amateur athlete from Bashkiria, Radmir Bikmetov, conducted a charity swim at a distance of 250 km. The daredevil's route ran along the Belaya River from Sterlitamak to Ufa. Before the start, Bikmetov pursued two goals. He wanted to collect 250 thousand rubles for butterfly children and at the same time hold an eco-campaign. Garbage collection was carried out in places of rest and stops. Bikmetov told about the course of the swim on Instagram. The reality exceeded expectations: the total amount of donations significantly exceeded the swimmer's calculations.

The money will go to support children with epidermolysis bullosa, a severe genetic disease of the skin, which is covered with abscesses and erosions. Young patients need special conditions for rehabilitation and trained staff. 22 children with this diagnosis live in Bashkiria. According to the representatives of the Republican Center for Social Technologies "Breaking Barriers", the funds collected by Bikmetov will allow them to carry out a full-fledged rehabilitation shift.

Russian MMA fighter accused of neo-Nazism

British tabloid journalist Chisanga Malata apologized to Russian fighter Roman Bogatov and his second Alexei Kiser for the insult during the broadcast of the fight. The 29-year-old former M-1 champion lost to 40-year-old Brazilian Leonardo Santos by decision at UFC 251.

As Malata wrote on his Twitter, he mistook Kisser's tattoo for the image of the Sonnenrad rune, the so-called solar swastika, which was present on the standards of the 5th SS Panzer Division Viking and the 11th SS Volunteer Panzer Grenadier Division Nordland.

According to the reporter, after a deep immersion in the study of Slavic symbols, he found out that in fact the Russian athlete had put an image of a Kolovrat on his elbow. Malata noted that the two signs are very similar and can be easily confused - however, they are not identical.

“For this reason, I refuse the accusations of neo-Nazism and apologize to both men. Calling someone a racist or classifying people as a similar ideology when they don't adhere to it at all is bad, "Malata wrote on Twitter on July 18. He also explained that he did not want negative consequences for the careers of Bogatov and Kiser.

However, on July 21, the journalist made another post in which he withdrew his apology. He also posted a link to Bloody Elbow under the headline "Russian fighter's coach displays neo-Nazi symbol during UFC broadcast." The text contains excerpts from various statements by Kisser in social networks. In particular, it was noted that the athlete called his tattoo a Slavic pagan symbol and admitted that "not a single colored person suffered from him."

The UFC decided to exclude Bogatov and Kiser from their ranks. On Instagram, the latter mocked that he spent two weeks on the pencil at the promotion, but did not manage to make his debut in the official fight.

"Do you think I can be considered a semi-veteran of the organization and write this in the profile header?" He asked in a post about his exile from the UFC.

Figure skater Daleman named the first beauty of Ontario

PyeongChang 2018 Olympic figure skating champion Gabrielle Daleman won the Miss Ontario beauty pageant and won the right to compete at Miss World Canada 2020 in November. This contest will determine the representative of Canada for the Miss World. In her Instagram, the 22-year-old athlete admitted that she does not believe in her own happiness. Daleman said it will be a great honor for her to participate in the national selection for the Miss World competition.

“I'm looking forward to the national selection! I also congratulate the other winners of the stage. I look forward to meeting you in November. Thanks a lot for your love and support! Guys, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here! ”She wrote.

The current success is especially important for Daleman, since the next Olympic cycle was not as successful for her as the previous one. At the end of 2018, the skater complained of health problems - depression, eating disorder and attention deficit disorder. At a competition in China in November 2019, the athlete injured her leg and had to resort to treatment. Shortly before the Canadian Championships in January 2020, she fell ill with pneumonia and took only eighth place. Nevertheless, the Canadian is determined to continue her sports career.

SMMs of Spartak and Loko fought in social networks

The real battle was carried out by the SMM specialists of Spartak and Lokomotiv in social networks. It all started with a red-and-white “tweet” dedicated to the comment of the head of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Viktor Kashshai on the episode with the fall of Alexander Sobolev in the Zenit penalty area in the 62nd minute of the 1/2 final of the Russian Cup. According to Muscovites, their striker was on the lawn after being hit in the face by Vilmar Barrios. Kashshai did not see a violation of the rules in this episode, noting that the moment could be interpreted differently if blood appeared on Sobolev's face.

As an ironic reaction to the words of the Hungarian referee, the Spartak team uploaded to Twitter a photo of the bloody ex-England player Terry Butcher, whose forehead was severely cut in one of the clashes in the game with Sweden at the 1990 World Cup. When one of the users asked if the Spartak account had been hacked, the SMM-manager replied: “For hacks, go to Lokomotiv, everything is beautiful here.” This was a reference to the recent loss by the red-greens of access to their own Twitter page.

The reaction of the Loko SMM team was not long in coming and turned out to be rather daring: “Better nine days without Twitter than a season without European cups”. Then it was again the turn of the red and white to show their wit. After the opponents regained the rights to an account in Spartak, they congratulated their colleagues on their return and suggested that the railwaymen, out of habit, entered the old password - NoSeminNoParty (one of the slogans of Loko fans in support of Yuri Semin).

The red-greens parried that they had too easy a password and login, having beaten Spartak's European anti-record in the 2002/03 season, when Oleg Romantsev's players lost all six matches in the Champions League group with a goal difference of 1:18.

No, we just had a well-known and easily guessed username and password 👌🏻 https://t.co/p96Kn19dsRpic.twitter.com/663QNksvOS

The best player of the 2019/20 Russian championship according to footballers Artyom Dziuba, after Zenit won the Russian Cup, actively sang along to the hit of the Hands Up! "Ay-yay-yay" on the plane from Yekaterinburg. This attracted the attention of long-term songwriter Sergei Zhukov, who posted a video of the attacker on his Instagram and invited him to team up.

“Well, Artyom, maybe already a duet,” Zhukov wrote.

“We take Igor and I’m ready,” Dziuba replied, hinting at the musician’s friendship with Igor Akinfeev.

By the way, the CSKA goalkeeper last week opened an account on the same social network. According to the official page of the army team, their captain "decided to break into Instagram" on the occasion of the launch of a new show on CSKA TV.

“I never thought I'd do it! But he did! And don't ask me why? It's like any penalty kick: they score - they don't score. We will not guess! Let's see what happens. If it is interesting, we will continue. If not, then a goal, ”the goalkeeper greeted the fans.
