A Sevilla FC player, whose identity has not been revealed by the Andalusian club, has tested positive for Covid-19, while the team is supposed to face Roma on August 6 in the round of 16 of the League Europa, fueling further concern about the resumption of European Football Cups next week.

"After the PCR tests carried out last Sunday on the players, staff and the rest of the staff, and the results of which were known on Monday July 27, a member of the first team tested positive for Covid-19", indicated the club in a press release. “The person is asymptomatic, in good health and is isolated at home,” concludes the Spanish club.

French football far from being spared

In France, we have also just learned of the cancellation of the friendly match between FC Nantes and Charleroi after the discovery of five cases among the Canaries. The Nantes residents are no longer authorized to travel for obvious health reasons. On the other hand, the two French clubs still engaged in the European Cup (PSG and OL) have for the moment been spared from an epidemic which has already affected several clubs including Losc, TFC, Bordeaux and, therefore, FC Nantes.
