Research continues on the Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean while, at the same time, French investigators are hard at work in Tarn-et-Garonne where the couple lived and ran a bakery.

The last time their daughter saw Laurent and Véronique Blond, it was before they left for a simple walk, on March 16, in Sao Vicente, on the Portuguese island where they were on vacation, indicates the prosecutor in a communicated. The day before, all three had returned from a long hike. The alert is given in the evening. The searches are carried out on site with “

significant search resources (...) immediately mobilized on site including in particular the firefighters, the local police and gendarmerie, civil protection, the maritime authority and the judicial police; the use of drones also quickly strengthened the system

,” details the press release from the public prosecutor in Montauban. The telephone demarcation is imprecise. Interrupted by bad weather, patrols resumed at the start of the week, without further results.

I'm lost, I have the impression that all the avenues are absurd in fact,”

says Pauline Blond, the couple's eldest daughter.

If they went on a poorly marked trail or somewhere where it could slip, I have a hard time understanding how they both could have slipped. A voluntary disappearance, I don't believe it at all because I have a newborn and my mother was absolutely crazy about her little girl. And then the bad encounter, we are told everywhere that Madeira is an island that worships tourists. We are not safe from anything anywhere, but all possible avenues seem improbable to me.

Twelve days after the disappearance of their parents, Pauline and her sister have less and less hope of finding them alive. But they would like to receive more information, at least the leads followed by investigators.
