They listened to an introduction to the functions of the sub-centers and learned about ecological meteorology, weather forecast and warning, tropical Marine meteorological research and other meteorological scientific research business services in Guangdong.

  Sileste Sauro expressed his admiration for the Guangdong Provincial Government's support and investment in meteorological work, and highly appreciated Guangdong's achievements in early warning systems, especially in the construction of typhoon early warning mechanisms and disaster prevention and reduction response mechanisms.

  Silest Sauro said that Guangdong's meteorological work not only provides better services to the public, but also provides a more scientific basis for government decision-making, and is worthy of being used as an example for many cities around the world to learn from. Guangdong’s participation in international cooperation and assistance to other countries and regions is consistent with the United Nations Universal Early Warning Initiative. She hopes that Guangdong can cooperate more closely with WMO in the future to jointly promote the development of meteorological undertakings and benefit the world.
