The career of Egyptian director Mohamed Sami witnessed many achievements and setbacks in a relatively short time. Since 2011, one series after another has been presented, some of which achieve success and are praised by audiences and critics, while others become the subject of ridicule and “comics” are made on social media platforms. But in both cases, it can be considered one of the “most viewed” and the most capable of reaching a wide segment of audiences.

Mohamed Sami will return in Ramadan 2024 with another series that belongs to the most-watched list, which is “Namat Al-Avocato,” starring his wife and partner in his successes and failures, Mai Omar, and written by Mohab Tariq, with Ahmed Zaher, Kamal Abu Rayya, and Arwa Gouda participating in the acting.

A spicy dish that cannot be resisted

Mohamed Sami achieved his greatest success - from a public standpoint at least - last year with the series “Jaafar Al-Omda” with Mohamed Ramadan, a work that brought together viewers to follow him with the same passion for watching football matches, and through which he presented a mixture of melodrama and keen popular comedy, and restored the career of Sami and Ramadan. Back on track after multiple failures both on their own.

There were many rumors about their return again in the second part of “Jaafar Al-Omda,” but they ended in nothing, while another series was announced before Ramadan by the same director and author, “Nima Al-Avocato.”

The events of “Nima Al Avocato” also take place in a popular neighborhood, and the heroine, Nima, is a very intelligent lawyer who is always able to help her clients, but that does not save her from poverty, as these clients are nothing but poor people whom she meets in a café, until relief comes to her at the hands of a very wealthy client. He entrusts her to save his son who was unjustly sentenced to ten years in prison, and promises her ten million pounds if she gets him out of this case.

Nimah actually succeeds in acquitting her client, and obtains the ten millions, but instead of the days making her laugh with this huge wealth, she discovers that it is a disaster for her, as she exposes the weak souls surrounding her, and exposes her to the risk of death at the hands of her husband, the death from which she returns like the phoenix. With a more violent and powerful version to take revenge on all those who failed her.

Sami uses all the features that were the amulet for his success in “Jaafar Al-Umda,” from the popular environment rich in the qualities of chivalry and “bravery” to violent crimes and plot twists, in addition, of course, to the unexpected treachery of friends and loved ones, and he ends each episode with a surprise that makes the viewer anticipate the next episode, despite his conclusions. The near certainty of the next event.

Muhammad Sami's series of this type are similar to "spicy" foods, which the eater knows that they have bad ingredients and sometimes may harm him more than good, but their taste is still delicious, prompting him to eat piece after piece carelessly.

Likewise, it is not possible to take any of the elements of the “Avocato Blessing” series and analyze it alone to reach its aesthetics, as each of them is truly modest, whether the theatrical acting, which almost breaks the fourth barrier, in which the heroine speaks directly to the camera, explaining the extent of her intelligence and the strength of her personality, or the very direct dialogue, or Flat characters.

The husband in “Avocato Blessing” is nothing more than a traitorous man who hates his wife for her success, and Sarah is a caricature of the playful secretary, and the father is the ideal lawyer who raises his daughter through rule and sermons, in addition to the soundtrack that tends to be epic even in scenes that do not call for it, and the modest “mixing.” We find that the change in the “sequences” of the music follows the heroine’s facial expressions more than the dramatic situation displayed on the screen. Despite all this, the series is still so interesting and entertaining that it is difficult to resist.

Who doesn't love grace?

In 1996, a television series was released entitled “Who Doesn’t Love Fatima?” Despite its title bearing the name of a woman, the series is dedicated to the main male character Sabry (Ahmed Abdel Aziz), whom all the women in the business fall in love with. This theme is found recurring in “ “Jaafar the Mayor” for example. The hero here does not only fall in love with his four wives, but every woman who passes on the screen admires him, including his mother, “Safsaf Al-Malika.” The narrative “Blessing of Avocado” repeats itself, but puts a woman in the place of “Sabri” and “Jaafar.” "She is, of course, the heroine, Nimah.

He falls in love with Nima, his lifelong friend, Akram (Ahmed Majed), and it nearly destroys his marriage, while the wealthy businessman Yassin (Imad Ziadeh) loses his mind as soon as he sees her in the courtroom as she defends his acquittal of a false accusation, so he asks his father like a spoiled child to appoint her. In his company with a huge salary, he leaves his work and responsibilities to help her in her quest to take revenge on her husband, and responds to his father’s anger at him for loving a married woman by saying that the heart has judgments.

On the other hand, Nima charms everyone who approaches her. Her father, Saeed Abu Alab (Kamal Abu Rayya), of course, and his friend, the failed lawyer (Sami Maghawry), and the owner of the café, who kept meeting people asking for her services as his lawyer, and the trainee lawyer, Muhammad (Muhammad Desouqi), who sacrificed... He sacrificed his life for her, and the good man who saved her from being buried alive.

This is largely due to the legendary status that the author and director imposed on the main character. She is a woman who sacrifices ten million pounds without real thought to make everyone around her happy. She is so sincere in her love that she turns her back on logical thinking and forgives her husband for major mistakes, but as she is legendary... In her kindness and love, she is also in her anger and revenge. She plans with all intelligence and cunning to destroy the lives of her opponents, Salah (Ahmed Zahir) and Sarah (Arwa Gouda), and takes the initiative to bravely put her life in danger time after time, to reach this goal, and in the process she establishes a group of people close to her who help her. In this quest like any other legendary heroine.

Creating a legendary status represents one of the most important reasons for viewers’ interaction with the series “The Bliss of Avocato.” The viewers identified with it, and the female viewers, despite their gender, did not differ in their eyes from “Jaafar Al-Omda,” “Radwan Al-Prince,” or “Rifai Al-Desouki,” and in this way Mohamed Sami repeats his success. Previously, in one of his most famous series, “Ma’ada Al-Israar,” his heroine was also a lawyer in love with her husband before she discovered his evil plan to destroy her family, and took evil revenge on him and his assistants.

Mohamed Sami has collaborated with his wife, Mai Omar, several times before, all with modest results at best, or disastrous, as in the case of the “Nasl Al-Agharab” series, but he breaks this cycle with the “Avocato Blessing” series, and the series has achieved high views on broadcast sites, despite With all his artistic flaws, he received the most important accolade in the world of art, which is the love of the masses.
