José Diego Gálvez, a native of La Línea de la Concepción, known as 'Dieguito' has died when he was

piloting an inflatable boat

in which several fuel pouches were found, the kind that drug traffickers usually use.

Three other people were traveling with him, one more from La Línea and two Galicians, who have already been arrested and made available to Court number three in Estepona (Málaga), which is in charge of investigating the case.

The events occurred in the waters of the Strait after a persecution by the Customs Service that began in San Roque and ended in waters of the province of Malaga.

According to sources consulted by EL MUNDO,

a sea surge and the high speed

at which the alleged drug traffickers were sailing could be the causes of the incident.

The Customs Service and the Civil Guard have already opened an investigation to clarify what happened and also to determine the possible relationship with Galician clans dedicated to drug trafficking.

The aforementioned sources indicate that "it is not normal for two from La Línea and two from Galicia to go, in addition the rubber (boat) came from Galician lands".

The researchers understand that the usual thing in these cases is that the pilot and his companions are neighbors of the Campo de Gibraltar, the Costa del Sol or Moroccans.

Some investigations suggest that

Galician organizations want to settle in the Strait

or at least intensify ties with the networks that already operate in the area.

The court has decreed the secrecy of the summary and Udyco is also working on the case, which may also generate another series of problems in the city of La Línea.

Not in vain, 'Dieguito' was quite well known and the security forces fear that there could be a

confrontation between rival clans

.

At the moment, the lifeless body of the alleged drug trafficker is still in the Forensic Anatomical Institute and it will be in the next few hours when he arrives at the La Línea de la Concepción funeral home.

The Civil Guard and the National Police are alert for what may happen once the burial is held.
