What a reboot!

Lyon flew over the 122nd derby at his rival Saint-Etienne (5-0) on Sunday, to revive and come back two points behind the coleaders Paris and Lille, at the end of the 21st day.

On the list of confrontations, OL, which equals its greatest success at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium after the memorable 5-0 in November 2017, leads for the first time since 1956, 45 wins to 44, for 33 draws.

The Lyonnais who, once is not customary, scored four times on set pieces, remain in contact (43 pts) with PSG and Losc (45 pts), also victorious this weekend.

After a draw in Rennes (2-2) then a surprise defeat against Metz (1-0), the players of Rudi Garcia thus find the going, in an ultra-tight top of the table which does not forgive any misstep.

For ASSE, decimated by the cases of Covid-19 for two weeks and which delivered a very poor performance, far from that produced in Strasbourg on January 17 (1-0), the situation is still complicated with a victory over his last 18 meetings.

The Foréziens remain stuck in 16th place in the standings, with four points ahead of the Dijon barrage (18th) who has one game less.

Lyon did not suffer too much against a harmless opponent, except on the first opportunity of the match, which was incredibly missed by Aïmen Moueffek upon receiving a cross from Romain Hamouma (1st) and a shot on Arnaud's bar Nordin (56th).

Because apart from these alerts, OL easily controlled the meeting and the Greens, really handicapped by the absence of an audience for such a meeting, were never dangerous again despite the entries of Denis Bouanga and Nordin in mid -time.

- Doubles by Kadewere and Marcelo -

Lyon quickly opened the scoring with a goal from Tino Kadewere who victoriously took over a corner played by Memphis Depay (16th).

The Rhone had not scored on a corner since August 2019 with a goal from Moussa Dembélé and a victory in Monaco (3-0) at the opening of the Championship.

Moreover, in the first leg, Kadewere's two goals enabled Olympique Lyonnais to win 2-1 a match in which the Stéphanois led 1-0 at half-time.

After a shot from the Italian Mattia De Sciglio on the bar (23rd), OL doubled the gap with a goal scored by the Brazilian Marcelo, with a header, upon receiving a free kick played by Léo Dubois (36th).

The two men did it again in the second half for Lyon's third goal, with Dubois still on the right and Marcelo still heading to score (59th).

Subsequently, Kadewere, adjusting Jessy Moulin, increased the score to 4-0 after an assist from Memphis Depay (68th), who, like Dubois, delivered two assists before getting his team's fifth goal on a free kick diverted from the head by Bouanga (83rd).
