Bestensee (dpa) - Volleyball Bundesliga team Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee suffered a severe setback in the fight for the best possible starting position for the playoffs.

The home game against the previous table ninth SVG Lüneburg lost the Brandenburgers on Saturday with 0: 3 (22:25, 23:25, 22:25).

If the Lower Saxony win this Sunday at VC Olympia Berlin, they would overtake the Netzhoppers in the table.

The Lüneburgers had not played a Bundesliga game for 35 days.

Nevertheless, the guests put their opponents under pressure from the start with a brisk attack game.

For the Netzhoppers, player Byron Keturakis was able to equalize in the first set with a block at 17:17, but thanks to simple mistakes by the opponent, the Lower Saxony were able to break away a little afterwards and could not take the set win.

The cup finalist from Königs Wusterhausen, who had won the first leg 3-2, gradually seemed to find his line.

In the second round, the team made up a 10:15 deficit with an 8: 3 point series, but still had to give up the set by a narrow margin.

In the third section the hosts were already 14: 9, but the Heidestadt team managed to catch up successfully.
