Sander Sagosen's Norway, who fell from the start against France in the Handball World Cup in Egypt, recovered on Saturday by dominating Switzerland, a last minute guest, 31-25 in the western suburbs of Cairo.

Two days after stumbling over French goalkeeper Wesley Pardin (18 saves), the finalist of the last two editions reacted and took a step towards the main round for which France has already qualified after their success earlier in the same room against Austria (35-28).

Sagosen, author of 10 goals against France, improved his total (11/17) while opposite, the Swiss leader Andy Schmid seemed dull (1/4 on shots, 3 stray bullets), as did the left rear Lenny Rubin (4/9).

The Helvetians, who learned Tuesday evening that they were replacing the United States decimated by the Covid-19, may have paid for their crazy day on Thursday, started before dawn in Schaffhausen in Switzerland and ended 40 km from Cairo with a victory over Austria (28-25).

The departure of their plane was delayed by snow, they came directly from Cairo airport to the hall and collected their luggage only an hour and a half before kick-off.

The Swiss will face the French on Monday.

Austria will have to achieve a feat against Norway to advance to the main round.
