Qatar and the United States of America signed a military agreement within the framework of an executive arrangement between the Qatari and US ministries of defense, relating to maritime activities and the ship port call of the State of Qatar.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the State of Qatar by the Commander of the Emiri Naval Forces, Major General Abdullah Hassan Al-Sulaiti, and for the United States, Commander of the Naval Forces in the US Central Command in the Middle East, Lieutenant General Samuel Papparo, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Ghanem bin Shaheen Al-Ghanim.

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony yesterday, Tuesday, the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces met with the Commander of the Navy in the US Central Command in the Middle East, during which they reviewed the military cooperation relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them.
