"The Defense Council decided to increase our vigilance posture," said Gérald Darmanin after his meeting with Emmanuel Macron.

A few days after Samuel Paty's assassination and the day after the Nice attack, the government notably allocated additional resources to securing churches, cemeteries and schools.

Because for several days, the information transmitted to the executive by the intelligence services is far from reassuring.

French intelligence is particularly interested in three groups, whose porosity is "more important than ever", according to a senior source.

These are moderate Muslims, fundamentalists (the Salafists and the Muslim Brotherhood) as well as Islamists, ready to take violent action.

According to this source, many moderate Muslims have slipped into fundamentalists.

And a significant number of fundamentalists, who were not ready to take terrorist action a few weeks ago, have switched to Islamists.

"We are facing the masses who want to destroy us"

"There, we are no longer facing a few individuals to watch. From now on, we face the masses who want to destroy us", specifies another specialist, who adds: "The protests of Erdogan against France, which he considers Islamophobic and racist, have had a considerable impact on French territory. "

In addition, the terrorist threat abroad, against French companies or embassies for example, has been multiplied by four.

To deal with these new data, the President of the Republic has decided to set up counter-influence operations.

An unprecedented mode of action since this type of operation is usually implemented against States which secretly spy on France in order to destabilize it.

The objective of these operations is to break the porosity between the three groups by counter-attacking both the influencers and the Muslim countries which would attack France.

Robots active on networks which massively relay anti-France content or promote radical Islam are also in the crosshairs.
