In a few weeks, American soldiers, boats and planes will be part of a Swedish-led exercise that takes place along the Baltic coast in southern and central Sweden, the Swedish Armed Forces writes on its website.

The purpose is to strengthen the Armed Forces' ability to quickly carry out operations together with others.

The main part of the exercise will be done at sea and in the air.

According to the Swedish Armed Forces, American soldiers and boats arrived in Karlskrona a couple of weeks ago to train navigation in an archipelago environment.

"The Swedish archipelago is both complex and challenging, especially during the autumn months when the weather can give strong winds and strong waves," it says on the website.

The exercise also involves parts of the US Special Forces, as well as the American CV-22 B Osprey, which is a combination of an aircraft and a helicopter.
