The Algerian President, Abdel Majid Tebboune, announced on “Twitter” yesterday that he had entered a voluntary quarantine, after a number of government members and members of the Presidency Institution were infected with the emerging Corona virus.

Tebboune said: “In compliance with the advice of the medical staff, I have entered a voluntary quarantine, after the high-profile tires of the Presidency of the Republic and the government were infected with (Corona).

I assure you, my sisters and brothers, that I am well and healthy, and that I will continue my work from a distance until the end of the stone.

The Algerian presidency said that the presidential medical apparatus advised the president of the republic to initiate voluntary quarantine, for a period of five days, starting yesterday.

In a brief statement published on its Facebook page, the Presidency stated that this decision came after “it was found that many of the high-ranking frameworks headed by the Republic and the Presidency of the Government had symptoms of infection with the Coronavirus.”
