Social media pioneers in Britain showed solidarity with the resignation of Raqia Ismail, the first veiled mayor in Britain, after she cried at a Labor Party meeting;
Due to her being prevented from speaking, she encountered a host of difficulties due to racism.
Raqia, who resigned from Islington mayor 15 months after taking office, had indicated about two weeks ago that she had resigned, and two days earlier she submitted a resignation statement to the Labor Party, in which she said that the party "discriminates against minorities while allowing white men to do whatever they want." Her decision to resign had a wide impact on social media platforms, after politicians, writers and journalists expressed their solidarity with her.

Rakia was the first Muslim of Somali origin and the first veiled woman to assume a mayor in Britain, and the municipality that she headed is located within Greater London, and its population exceeds 215,000 residents.
In her resignation statement, the former mayor said that the Labor Party did not respect the values it held, as the Islington Tribune newspaper reported at the time.
The Guardian also reported that she has resigned;

As a woman and because of her color, she is also referring to the Islamophobia feelings of some of her former party colleagues.
The newspaper also included a statement by a spokesman for the Labor Party, expressing his regret at the resignation of Raqia, and praising the efforts made to serve her region.
