Havana breathes!

After a month of strict confinement, the Cuban capital is reopening.

Cuba has nearly 5,600 cases of coronavirus contamination, including 122 deaths.

A partial reopening last July caused a significant upsurge in contamination which forced the country to take more radical measures, including an evening curfew and a suspension of transport.

The inhabitants of Havana are therefore waking up this Thursday relieved by this deconfinement.

No more curfew, this is undoubtedly the measure most awaited by the Havanese after a month locked up at home in the evening.

The movement of vehicles and people was prohibited from 7 p.m. in the evening until 5 a.m.

Transport must also resume this Thursday, as well as traffic between the different neighborhoods.

For the past month, it has been forbidden to shop in a district other than that of his place of residence.

It is now authorized, which will relieve many residents of Havana who for months have encountered major difficulties in obtaining supplies.

Appeal of the governor for self-discipline of the inhabitants

To fight the pandemic while reviving economic and social activities, the governor of the province of Havana, Reinaldo Garcia Zapata announced this new deconfinement, while calling for the discipline of the inhabitants.

“

This is a very important element that must be taken into account: everyone's responsibility.

I believe that the State has made every effort to protect the population, with all the drugs and all the medical personnel made available to the people.

But now we need to think about protecting ourselves a little more.

 "
