The Roland-Garros tournament will now consider as "non-contagious" people who test positive for Covid-19 but can prove that they have already contracted the coronavirus, an evolution made possible by the new directives from the health authorities, has t - we learned Monday from the Federation (FFT).

"The public authorities thus informed the FFT, on Friday September 25 at the end of the day, that the documented anteriority of the disease, attested by the medical file of the person tested and validated by the medical profession, made it possible to observe, if necessary, the non-contagiousness of the person with regard to the health protocol ", explained the FFT.

All Roland-Garros participants and their staff must undergo a first test on their arrival in Paris and a second on D + 2.

Those who remain in contention in the fortnight must then be retested every five days.

Asked whether the players who have already had the new coronavirus - as is the case in particular with world No.1 Novak Djokovic or Frenchman Benoît Benoît Paire - would continue to be tested or not, the Federation, organizer of the Parisian Grand Slam, on the other hand refused to comment.

This development comes a few days after the anger of the Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, "frustrated and revolted" at having been ousted from the main draw at Roland Garros due to a positive test, while he claims to have contracted the Covid- 19 "asymptomatically" during the summer.

Last week, the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, excluded from the qualifications because of the positive test undergone by his trainer Petar Popovic who had already contracted the disease, also protested vehemently against his ousting.
