As in 2020, the budget of the Ministry of Sports will increase in 2021 due to the share devoted to projects related to the 2024 Olympic Games, according to the finance bill presented on Monday.

Established at 710.4 million in the 2020 finance bill, it is registered in 2021 at 802 million euros, according to the presentation made Monday to the Ministry of National Education, which now oversees Sports.

Most of the increase is due to the increase in the State endowment to the Solideo (delivery company of Olympic works), which rose from 129 to 225 million euros.

This establishment, responsible for building long-lasting equipment and facilities in view of the 2024 Paris Games, is in charge, for example, of the construction of the Olympic village intended to be transformed into a residential area after the Olympics, or of the renovation of the Stade de France.

Another budget line, that of the National Sports Agency (ANS) which now receives a large part of the appropriations, and endowed with competences formerly under the ministry (high level and development of sports practices).

The ANS will receive 305 million euros, or 21 million more than last year (284 million euros), we told the Ministry of Sports.

In total, adding in particular 60 million euros to the recovery plan for 2021, its budget will be 365 million euros.

Apart from the actual appropriations, the ministry will receive the proceeds from the taxes allocated to it up to 170 million euros, an increase of 24 million euros, the ministry was told, due to the "raising of the Buffet tax ceiling" (tax on rights linked to television broadcasts).

The sports sector benefits, as part of the recovery plan, from 120 million credits, spread over two years.
