After Olivier Véran's announcements on Wednesday evening on the early closure of bars and / or restaurants in the "enhanced alert" zone, negotiations have opened in each territory.

The prefects must in fact decide in conjunction with the local elected representatives by Monday on a cut-off time for these establishments.

After Olivier Véran's announcements, negotiations.

On Wednesday evening, the Minister of Health indicated that the prefects should decide, in conjunction with local elected officials, the closing time of bars and / or restaurants in the 11 metropolises, including Paris, classified in the red zone "d 'enhanced alert'.

A distinction between bars and restaurants in Paris?

In Paris for example, professionals in the sector hope that a distinction will be made between restaurants and bars.

As customers are seated in a restaurant, the owners believe that it is possible to respect the sanitary protocol and therefore to leave them open after 10 p.m., unlike bars.

On the side of elected Toulouse officials, the hope is that a distinction will be made between the city center, frequented by students and young people increasingly contaminated, and the rest of the less dense municipality.

They are therefore pushing to keep bars and restaurants in this area open.

A new health protocol in Nice?

In Nice, Mayor LR Christian Estrosi is considering another option: to apply a strict protocol to these establishments to allow them to remain open.

An idea inspired by theaters and other cinemas which can always welcome the public in the red zone "of reinforced alert", under condition of the respect of their sanitary protocol.

The mayor of Nice has already sent his proposal to the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, who must decide the issue by Monday, the day of the entry into force of the early closures in all the territories concerned.
