“The situation in Libya is not only a concern for Russia and Turkey - it is a big headache for many international players,” he said in an interview with the New York bureau of Al Arabiya TV channel.

According to him, the Libyan statehood must be restored.

“Russia and Turkey are among those who want to contribute to this.

Unlike many other external players, Russia from the very beginning established and maintained contacts with all Libyan parties and politicians, whether in Tripoli, Tobruk, Benghazi, Sirte or elsewhere, ”Lavrov said.

As noted by the Russian Foreign Minister, France, Italy and the United Arab Emirates at various stages of the Libyan situation also participated in providing some kind of dialogue.

Lavrov also said that the agreement should be reached by the Libyan parties themselves, and Moscow and Ankara can only provide mediation services.
