Yesterday, Egypt began implementing a package of measures to ease restrictions related to the emerging corona virus, including the holding of funeral prayers and weddings.

In a statement published by the Al-Ahram Gate website, the Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Muhammad Mukhtar Jumaa, stipulated that the funeral prayer should be held according to specific controls, including holding it in major mosques that have open squares or an open courtyard outside the times of the five daily prayers or Friday prayers.

He pointed out that the period of opening the mosque for the funeral prayer from the time the mosque is opened to its closure does not exceed 15 minutes at all, indicating that it will not be allowed to wait for it, as the prayer takes place as soon as the funeral is entered and then the departure is completed.

And he stressed the need not to allow entry to anyone who does not wear the muzzle.

The Ministry confirmed that the experiment will be subject to continuous evaluation, and the decision will be taken to continue to allow or prevent this based on the extent of citizens' commitment or non-compliance with the instructions.

Yesterday also began the implementation of a package of decisions taken by the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis last Monday, including holding weddings in open places, in tourist and hotel establishments that have a health safety certificate, with a maximum of 300 individuals, and the same decision applies to meetings and conferences with an attendance rate of 50% and a limit Maximum of 150 people.

The committee agreed to organize cultural exhibitions, to start with the Book Fair in Alexandria, and this is implemented in open places, with an attendance rate not exceeding 50%, with the application of precautionary measures, the resumption of adult education activities, the reopening of literacy classes, with the application of precautionary measures.

The committee also decided to return to second-class football training.

These measures come after the number of cases of infection and death due to "Corona" has decreased significantly during the recent period, as the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the registration of 115 new cases of the virus and the death of 20 new cases.
