As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the department, on the eve of the Belarusian training ground "Gozhsky" they transferred paratroopers of the Tula airborne unit.
During the active phase of the maneuvers, paratroopers from the battalion tactical group of the Pskov airborne assault formation will work out the landing of the vanguard detachment from helicopters, as well as seizing the area for landing.
The landing of the main forces from the Il-76md aircraft will also be carried out, the blocking of the settlement and the destruction of illegal armed formations.
On the Russian side, more than 900 people and about 100 units of military equipment will take part in the second stage of the exercises, the agency writes.
Earlier, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, commander of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, arrived in Belarus to participate in the second stage of the Slavic Brotherhood exercises.
The second stage will take place from 22 to 25 September in the west of Belarus.
