For the first time since the lifting of confinement, there is a clear increase in the number of deaths linked to Covid-19.

Between this week and last week, they have simply more than doubled.

Deaths that take place both in hospitals and in nursing homes for the elderly, the Ephad.

Another indicator also alerts health authorities: if young people aged 20 to 30 remain the most affected by Covid-19, the virus is now progressing very quickly among those aged 75 and over, with a rate of new cases up by 45 % in this population over the whole of last week.

Older patients who are therefore more at risk of contracting a severe form of the disease and of being treated in intensive care.

Finally, Public Health France and the Institut Pasteur also publish the results of a seroprevalence study in the French population.

And the figures are not good: in mid-May, only 3.3% of French people have developed neutralizing antibodies after being contaminated with Covid-19.

These initial estimates point to a collective immunity rate that is too low to control viral circulation.

Here, a unit dedicated to Covid-19 has been reopened, 6 beds out of the 15 in the service are all occupied ...
