Winds of over 30 seconds with floods and landslides in its tracks swept over Vietnam on Friday morning Swedish time.

More than a million people in three different provinces, including the tourist city of Da Nang, were urged to leave their homes on Thursday, according to Vietnam's disaster authority.

And on Friday, beaches, schools and several airports were closed.

At least one person dead

The Bangkok Post writes that at least one person must have died in the storm after being hit by a tree and another person must have been injured.

Hundreds of houses are also said to have been damaged in the storm.

During Friday, the storm has been downgraded and but there are still warnings that over 250 millimeters of rain can come in total over central Vietnam.

Vietnam is continuously hit by tropical storms from May to October and the central coast is worst affected.

Storm Noul is the fifth to hit the country this year.
