12 September 2020Over 100 hours of live broadcast, 260 hours of programming, 50 films broadcast.

An even greater commitment that of Rai for the seventy-seventh Venice Film Festival.

Starting with the cutting-edge technology in the opening and closing live broadcasts broadcast with the aid of augmented reality, a project developed entirely within Rai, and made fully accessible with the subtitled versions on page 777 of Teletext for the deaf, audio-described for the visually impaired and blind and in LIS, the Italian Sign Language live on RaiPlay.

The minutes of programming on Rai Movie are increasing to offer an ever-growing audience the opportunity to follow the exhibition in streaming with about ten hours a day of live coverage, for a total of about 6000 minutes (100 hours).

A great productive effort that Rai wanted and was able to implement also as Host Broadcaster of the event, which this year for the first time connected the Lido of Venice with Rome through the very fast optical fiber.

Tg1, Tg2, Tg3, RaiNews24, Tgr, Radio Rai, RaiPlay, and Rai Movie, the official TV of the Festival, followed day by day the first major international cinema event which reopened after the lockdown.

Rai, in agreement with the Venice Biennale, has broadcast and dedicated spaces for press conferences, TV calls, red carpets, photocalls and ceremonies for the delivery of Special Awards.

The Tg and the Gr told the event with live coverage, reports and insights in the columns for over 1100 minutes (over 18 hours).

Rai has also produced live and edited contributions for many programs, including “Uno Mattina”, “Stracult”, “Qui Venezia Cinema”, born from the collaboration of the Rai magazines, for over 1200 minutes (20 hours).

The Viale Mazzini company carried out the many daily activities of the Gr and Radio channels for a total of about 3500 minutes (58 hours).

An extensive film program was dedicated to Venice with 34 film titles on Rai Movie for 3060 minutes (51 hours) and 5 TV previews on Rai3 in the first and second evening for 571 minutes (almost 10 hours) and a review of 11 films “Cult” dedicated to the Biennale Cinema on Rai3 within Fuori Ora, with various premieres, for a total of 1347 minutes (over 22 hours).

Record numbers that exceed 16 thousand minutes of programming, for over 260 hours.

3 daily connections were produced on the red carpet at 4.30 pm, 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm, video calls with at least four exclusive interviews a day, the arrivals of the stars, filmed between 10 and 24. Rai, in addition , with a position on the red carpet, he made over 15 daily connections between 7 and 24, and, thanks to 10 editing stations, more than 20 news reports a day, live, edited and special for Tg1, Tg2, Tg3 and RaiNews24.

The production activities, organized by the Special Production Projects Unit of the Production Department, in addition to the shooting, coordinated all the transversal activities required by the publishing area, such as those managed by the master control room: recording of all events produced, distribution signals to all applicants, management of giant screens, production of an international signal.

The total amount of recorded material was made available on the Rai Movie website.

RaiPlay also offers the contents produced by Rai Movie and a section of films related to the Festival and its protagonists.
