China News Service, September 4, reported a comprehensive report that an African-American man died of asphyxiation after being arrested by the police in Rochester, New York, USA in March.

A few days ago, the family of the African-American man released a video of the incident.

On September 3, the seven police officers involved were suspended.

The incident occurred in the North District of New York City on March 23.

On the same day, the New York police received a report that an African-American man with mental problems was running naked on the street.

Afterwards, the police came to the scene and brought Prud under control.

This week, Prud’s family released a video about the police arrest process. The video showed a group of policemen putting hoods on Prud’s head, suspected to prevent him from spitting, in case he might be infected with the new crown virus.

The temperature in New York that day was very low, but the police still directly pressed the naked Prud onto the road with his knees and hands.

A few minutes later, Prud stopped moving, fell into a coma, and died after being sent to the hospital.

The US media pointed out that the autopsy report showed that the Monroe County forensic doctor determined that Prud's death was caused by suffocation complications caused by physical restraint.

The autopsy report also pointed out that "extreme excitement" and acute poisoning caused by some drugs are also one of the causes of death.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, who is also of African descent, said: "Mr. Prudd was let down by our police department, our mental health care system, our society, and I was let down by me." Full of sorrow."

Warren said that she didn't know about Prud's death until August, and she condemned the death as a result of racial discrimination.

Rochester Police Chief Singh Terry, who is also of African descent, said on September 2 that an internal and criminal investigation is underway.
