The Syrian official media reported that, last night, Israel bombed a military airport in Homs (central Syria), and the bombing came two days after the deadly raids south of Damascus.

The Syrian News Agency, SANA, quoted a military source as saying that the Syrian air defenses responded to Israeli missile attacks that targeted the "T4" airport (T4) in Homs countryside, and the agency said that the attacks caused material losses only.

These raids are the second in the past two days.

And last Monday, Israeli shelling targeted sites south of the capital Damascus, killing at least 11 people.

Tel Aviv has publicly acknowledged its responsibility for hundreds of raids that have targeted sites in Syria over the past years, and says that it is targeting the Iranian military presence, and is working to prevent the Lebanese Hezbollah from smuggling advanced weapons into Lebanon from Syrian territory.

In late July, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel was continuing to work on the same approach to prevent Iran from establishing a military base in Syria.
