  • The races of La Strasbourgeoise, organized each year as part of the fight against breast cancer, will take place in 2020.

  • The main race, a 5 km urban course, is scheduled for Sunday October 4.

With a big change this year: the number of participants will be limited to 5,000 people.

  • Like every year, part of the proceeds will be donated to organizations that fight against breast cancer.

A pink wave will once again break through the streets of Strasbourg on October 4, 2020. La Strasbourgeoise, this race organized to fight against breast cancer, will celebrate its ten years.

"It would have been easier not to do but we decided to do it, taking into account the Covid and attack protocols", launches Claude Schneider, the president of the city's Sports Office and organizer of the event.

"We want the events to continue in Strasbourg, that's why this choice was made", supports the health assistant of the new municipal team, Alexandre Feltz.

"But it's not going to be like it was at all, at all.

"

An unchanged course

Main change?

There will no longer be, as in 2019 and for the same 5 km urban course, 12,000 participants in the big race (and walk) on Sunday.

This time, the number of places has been limited to 5,000.

“There will be departures in waves of 200 to 300 people, every 3 to 4 minutes.

It will be necessary to be masked before the departure and upon the arrival ”, specifies Claude Schneider, who has already identified“ between 1,000 and 1,200 registrations ”.

They are open on the La Strasbourgeoise site, as for all the other weekend events.

On Saturday, a canoe route, limited to 400 participants, is again offered.

The same day, and this is a first, a Nordic walk over 6 km will also be accessible to 100 people.

In both cases, wearing a mask is compulsory.

Like every year, part of the proceeds will be donated to organizations that fight against breast cancer.

This year, the Strasbourg Europe Cancer Institute (Icans) and the Association for Breast Disease Screening (Ademas) will benefit.

For each registration at 12 euros, 5 euros will be donated to them.

Since the first edition, more than 400,000 euros have been redistributed, including 60,000 just last year.
