"He (UN Security Council - RT) rejected a reasonable resolution to extend the 13-year arms embargo against Iran," reads a statement on the State Department's website.

According to him, the UN has failed to maintain its commitment to maintaining peace and security.

He noted that the United States will continue to work to ensure that the Iranian regime does not have the freedom to sell and buy weapons.

Earlier, American leader Donald Trump said during a press conference at the White House that he had not yet been informed about the initiative of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to convene a video summit on the Iranian nuclear deal.
