The day after the notorious fatal shooting in Rinkeby, the police continue with intensive work. Now, among other things, door knocks are carried out, surveillance videos are collected and preliminary investigation material is compiled.

The police also have increased resources in the area.

- Yes, it is for security-creating purposes, says police spokesman Per Fahlström.

Already on Thursday evening, a number of interrogations were held and there are still several interrogations with people who for various reasons may be of interest to the investigation.

Alarmed after 18

- There were a lot of people out so we talk to a lot of people, says Fahlström.

However, he does not want to comment on what has emerged in the interrogations.

- It is too early to comment on. There are very many interrogations to be compiled and further interrogations to be held, says Fahlström.

Initiated special event

Police were called to the scene shortly after 6 pm on Thursday after an alarm that a person had been shot.

When the police arrived, a gunshot wounded man was found who first received care on the spot and then was taken to hospital by ambulance. At 8 pm, the police announced that the man had died from his injuries.

According to witnesses, at least one person left the crime scene on a motorcycle in connection with the shooting. The police have initiated a so-called special event due to the fatal shooting, in order to free up resources during the operation.

Ten fatal shootings

Later in the night, a person in Rinkeby was beaten and robbed by several people unknown to him. Whether the incident can be linked to the fatal shooting has not been determined.

- It is obviously something you look at, but it is not something I know, says Per Fahlström.

In 2020, ten people have so far been shot dead in the Stockholm police region, according to the police. Eleven confirmed shootings have taken place in the local police area Rinkeby during the year. In them, two were injured and two died.

In 2019, 17 people were shot dead in the region.
