Case 1 is of Russian nationality and lives in Russia. He departed from Russia on August 9 and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 11 after transiting through the Netherlands. After entering the country, he was quarantined for observation and developed symptoms during the period. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging examination results, etc., were diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Cases 2 to 5 are all Chinese nationals, working in Zambia and Côte d’Ivoire respectively. They departed from Zambia and Côte d’Ivoire on August 10 and transferred to the same flight via Ethiopia. They arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 11 and were concentrated after entering the country. Isolation and observation, symptoms appeared during the period. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging examination results, etc., were diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Case 6 is of Chinese nationality and works in the UAE. He departed from the UAE on August 7 and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on the same day after transiting through Sri Lanka. After entering the country, he was quarantined for observation and developed symptoms during the period. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging examination results, etc., were diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Cases 7 and 8 are Filipino crew members. They set off from the Philippines on August 3 and arrived in Shanghai on August 9 for vessel repairs. They were quarantined and observed after entering the country, and symptoms developed during the period. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging examination results, etc., were diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Cases 9-16 are all Chinese nationals, working or living in the Philippines, taking the same flight, departing from the Philippines on August 12, and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on the same day. They were quarantined and observed after entering the country and developed symptoms during the period. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging examination results, etc., were diagnosed as a confirmed case.
The 16 imported imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 253 close contacts on the same flight have been tracked, and centralized isolation and observation have been implemented.
