French world champion Blaise Matuidi has terminated his contract with Juventus Turin by mutual agreement after three seasons in Italy, the Italian club announced on Wednesday, leaving his future at less than a year to go. 'Euro-2020 reprogrammed in 2021.

At 33, the former Paris SG midfielder still had a year of contract with Juve, who has just appointed Andrea Pirlo, the ex-star of Italy, as coach.

Several media have indicated that Matuidi is preparing to join the Inter Miami of David Beckham, club of the North American Championship (MLS), a choice which questions the chances of the medium to remain at the highest level next year.

"To have been a member of the Juventus family is a dream come true, an honor. I have discovered an incredible institution, teammates who have become more than that. I will always remain your number 1 fan, or rather number 14," said reacted the player on Twitter in reference to his jersey number, a message published in the caption of a video summarizing his best moments at the Bianconeri.

At Juve, "Blaisou" has established himself as the handyman of the midfielder, where he was particularly appreciated on the left side for his defensive compensation, leaving the field open to star Cristiano Ronaldo.

He won five titles under the ka "Vieille Dame" jersey: three championships, a National Cup and an Italian Supercup. But not the Champions League, which the leaders dream of since the arrival of CR7 in 2018.

In recent weeks, Matuidi has occupied the substitutes' bench a little more often, notably barred by his compatriot Adrien Rabiot. Several Italian media have assured in recent days that Pirlo was not counting on him for next season.

If his departure for the United States and a second zone championship were to be confirmed, this could complicate his chances for the Euro, which he hopes to play with the Blues of Didier Deschamps. But the French coach has, since the coronation in Russia in 2018, always maintained great confidence in his eleven-type.
