California Sen. Kamala Harris was named Joe Biden's vice presidential candidate on Tuesday, after a month-long election process. The award has been met with praise from her previous possible co-candidates - but also by strong criticism from, among others, President Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, Biden wrote several posts on Twitter in which he praised his new employee.

“I need someone next to me who is smart, tough and ready to lead. Kamala Harris is that person ", the presidential candidate writes, among other things.

"We are in a struggle for the soul of this country. But together it is a battle we can win ", writes Harris on Twitter.

The first joint appearance with the two Democratic candidates takes place during a rally in connection with a speech in the state of Delaware on Wednesday night, local time.
