(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) The Government of Nepal decides to re-implement the ban on international commercial flights until August 31

China News Agency, Kathmandu, August 10 (Reporter Zhang Chenyi) The Nepalese government's cabinet held a meeting on the evening of the 10th and decided to re-implement the ban on domestic and international commercial flights until August 31 to prevent and control the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

At the same time, the cabinet meeting also decided to implement the domestic long-distance traffic ban until August 31; decided to reduce the number of entry points on the Nepal-India border from 20 to 10; decided to strengthen the control of personnel and vehicles in and out of the Kathmandu Valley.

In late July, the Nepalese government has decided to lift the ban on domestic and international commercial flights from August 17, and unblock it in steps. However, in recent times, the number of new coronavirus infections in Nepal has increased again every day, and the number of cases in the Kathmandu Valley has increased rapidly, so the pressure on epidemic prevention and control remains heavy.

On the afternoon of August 10, the Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal informed that in the past 24 hours, there have been 338 new cases of new coronavirus infections across the country, a total of 23,310 cases. At the same time, there were 4 new deaths nationwide, with a total of 79 cases.

It is worth noting that there were 44 new cases of new crowns in the Kathmandu Valley that day: 36 cases were from Kathmandu, 4 cases were from Patan City, and 4 cases were from Badgang City. So far, there have been 1,180 cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.

The Nepal Immigration Bureau issued an announcement on the 10th that because an employee was infected with the new crown virus, it immediately stopped providing visa processing services for foreign citizens (except for emergency services). (Finish)
