Juventus announced on Saturday that they had withdrawn the management of their team from coach Maurizio Sarri who, despite a new league title, could not resist the elimination of his team on Friday in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Lyon.
Sarri had taken control of Juventus at the start of the season, replacing Massimiliano Allegri, who came after a long five-year cycle. Sarri for his part was coming out of a one-year experience with Chelsea, where he won the Europa League.

The position of Sarri, who came to add a touch of aesthetics to a team that always won but rarely seduced, had been weakened for several weeks.
After two defeats in the Cup final and in the Supercup, Juve had indeed won Serie A but without convincing and finishing the championship at a relegation rate.
Sarri did not finally resist Friday's elimination against Lyon (0-1; 2-1), which took place in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
While it had recruited Cristiano Ronaldo two years ago to win the C1, Juventus remains on a quarter-final and a round of 16 in the event.
