The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced yesterday the opening of registration in the virtual educational camp (deep learning) for university students, which is held remotely over the course of three intensive training days. The educational camp activities for students start from August 18 to 20. Organizing the camp is part of one of the initiatives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center to support the strategic directions of the UAE in this field, in order to enhance the building of a generation capable of adopting advanced technology and its technologies, with the aim of developing various solutions to future challenges.

The initiative aims to provide young people with an exceptional experience in exploring space science, through unique theoretical and practical lessons and educational and educational activities provided by experts and specialists in space science from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center. The educational camp is an important opportunity for students interested in this field to form a comprehensive view about acquiring new skills in the field of remote sensing and satellites.

The center’s director general, Youssef Al-Shaibani, said: “The center is keen to make effective contributions that support the strategic directions of the UAE in this field, and provides an opportunity for young people to explore an important aspect of space science and its modern technologies that are the basis of advanced science in all fields.”

For his part, the Center’s Head of Applications Development and Analysis, Eng. Saeed Al-Mansoori, said: “We work through this camp to prepare young people and develop their skills necessary to keep up with the future of deep education and artificial intelligence technologies, which are the kind of important skills and knowledge that have become a necessity imposed on us by new science Technology is under the influence of technological progress, and seeking to keep pace with this pace of development at the regional and international levels.

The Deep Learning Camp program is divided into theoretical and practical workshops. The theoretical part deals with the definition of remote sensing and the techniques used therein, and will focus on satellite image analysis. While the practical part includes learning specialized applications of machine learning, and includes the application "Python and Google Collab", also the practical aspect includes the participation of students in a technological challenge through the competition "Hackathon" rewarding financial rewards for the winners.

Conditions for participation

The applicant to participate in the camp is required to be a university student within the UAE, and between the ages of 18 and 30, with knowledge of the basics of mathematics, the Python programming language, and image processing operations. Registration will be open to 15 target groups of students.
