  According to statistics from South Korea’s Central Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, as of 10:30 am on the 3rd, heavy rains caused 6 deaths and 9 missing in South Korea, and the death toll is still increasing. In Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, three people were killed and one injured in a factory. In addition, landslides and rapids in Chungcheongbuk Province have killed 4 people.

  Specifically, on the 1st local time, the water in the Dorimcheon River in Seoul soared, causing one person to be washed away. On the 2nd, a landslide occurred in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, causing one death. In addition, eight people in Chungcheongbuk-do are missing, and a fishing farm manager in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do is also missing. Up to now, more than 800 people have been affected in South Korea and more than 1,500 have been temporarily moved to safe areas.

  This round of precipitation was suspended on the evening of the 3rd and is expected to start again on the morning of the 4th. The Korea Meteorological Agency predicts that as of the afternoon of the 3rd, the rainfall around the north west coast of Chungcheongnam Province will reach 50 to 80 mm, accompanied by lightning disasters. In addition, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheongnam-do are expected to receive 100 to 200 millimeters of heavy rain as of the 4th, with rainfall exceeding 300 millimeters in some areas.
