Medvedev said that "in general, the value of the G7 today is highly questionable against the background of the G20 and other international formats" and added that "Russia does not need any return to the outdated formats of discussing international issues."

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that Germany opposes the return of Russia to the G7 summit until the situation with Crimea and Ukraine is resolved.

Sergei Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, commented on this statement by Maas in an interview with RT.
