Recently, Changdu, Tibet Zhong Chun, secretary of the Party Committee of the People's Hospital, introduced that the department is the first modern hospital in Tibet. After nearly 70 years of development, it has now become the only "three-A" general hospital in eastern Tibet.

  The reporter saw in the exhibition room of the hospital that the early Changdu People's Hospital had only an old-fashioned "Gorky" car. Due to the inconvenience of transportation, medical staff had to zip around the countryside and take kraft boats to cross the river to various towns for inspection.

  "In 1952, our hospital was'established' in a private house, with only about 20 outpatient visits per day. Today, the hospital has undergone several reconstructions and expansions, and now we are a hospital organized by the Central Organization Department (Chongqing) for medical personnel in Tibet. Zhong Chun said that 11 medical institutions including the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the Second Hospital, Children's Hospital and Chongqing Municipal People's Hospital have implemented the "hospital package of departments" to support the comprehensive construction and development of the hospital.

  It is reported that the annual number of outpatient visits in Changdu People's Hospital has increased from 95,600 in 2015 to 120,900 in 2019, and surgeries have increased from 3,614 to 6,083.

  The dean of the hospital, Jiang Yingjiu, is a professor and chief physician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, deputy director of thoracic surgery, and a doctor of medicine. He said that the aid to Tibet medical experts implement the "One Belt Four" approach (two key medical staff and two new medical staff) to create a team of talents that can be retained.

  It is reported that after rapid development in recent years, Changdu People’s Hospital currently has more than 540 medical staff, who can perform coronary artery stent implantation, intracranial tumor resection and artificial joint replacement surgery. The rescue success rate of critically ill patients exceeds 98%. .

  According to Changdu officials, at present, Changdu has 3.5 beds per 1,000 people, and the number of health technicians has reached 3.5 and 4.62. The maternal and infant mortality rates have dropped from 168.25/100,000 and 17.32‰ in 2015 to 2019. 31.88/100,000 and 6.7‰.
