It is the national association of the caravan industry that states that interest in motorhomes has increased markedly since the pandemic struck, especially when it comes to used cars.

This is not least noticeable with Charles Fjellsöy, who is a dealer of new motorhomes in Varberg. He testifies that there is also high pressure on new motorhomes. To meet demand, he has been forced to sell both motorhomes that are usually only rented out and demo cars.

Long waiting times

Customers who are looking for a new motorhome will now know that the vehicle can only be available in a couple of weeks, while other popular models may not be in place until the turn of the year. The waiting time is due to increasing demand around Europe, combined with several factories being forced to close their production due to covid-19.

Since 2018, sales of new motorhomes have decreased in Sweden, which is believed to be due to higher vehicle tax.

Borrows motorhome for display

When all cars have been sold, Charles Fjellsöy needs a motorhome to show to customers. Therefore, he lets a customer have his motorhome parked at the store as a display copy. It is this motorhome shown in the clip above.
