Su-27 intercepted an American reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea

"On July 23, Russian airspace control devices over the neutral waters of the Black Sea detected an air target approaching the Russian state border," RIA Novosti reported.

As noted, the Su-27 was taken into the air from the air defense duty forces of the Southern Military District. He approached the object to a safe distance and identified it as a P-8A Poseidon.

After the American plane turned away from the state border, the Russian fighter returned to the home airfield.

On July 22, it was reported that air defense forces were escorting NATO aircraft over the Baltic and Black Seas.
