Anaïs Leleux, president of "Feminist Power", explains Wednesday on Europe 1 why the collective decided to seize the public prosecutor for influence peddling in the case of the apartment granted by Gerald Darmanin to a woman with whom he had a sexual relation, in 2009, in Tourcoing.

INTERVIEW

Feminist associations continue to mobilize, two weeks after the appointment of Gérald Darmanin Place Beauvau. The new Minister of the Interior is accused of rape by a woman who had requested him in 2009, when he was in charge of the legal affairs department of the UMP, in an attempt to have a conviction overturned. The complainant states that he dangled his support for her because of sexual favors, while the respondent acknowledges a simple consensual relationship. But a feminist collective is interested in another story: that of a resident of Tourcoing, claiming to have "felt obliged" to have sex with Gérald Darmanin to obtain housing and a job in Tourcoing, when he was mayor. A preliminary investigation for "abuse of weakness" was closed in 2018, but a collective intends to reopen the investigations, this time for influence peddling.

"The police and justice must be able to investigate"

"In this case, we have traces that he wrote to four social landlords to ask them to examine the HLM file of a woman", explains at the microphone of Europe 1 Anaïs Leleux, president of "Pouvoir feministe". “The concern is that she says that before that he came to her house and that she felt compelled to give him a blowjob. Apart from the issue of rape and abuse of weakness , if the facts are proven, if Gérald Darmanin has requested or even accepted a sexual relationship before intervening in favor of a citizen, there is what is called influence peddling, corruption ", believes - she.

"The police and justice must be able to investigate," continues the president of the collective. "We read a lot of the comments under the articles which evoke the Darmanin affair and what we noticed is that the citizens are sensitive to this question of corruption and to the fact that it is not normal that Gerald Darmanin is Minister of the Interior while there is an investigation on him, "she underlines.
