The Supreme Committee in charge of discussing a mechanism to deal with developments resulting from the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19) in the Sultanate of Oman announced the continuation of the closure of Dhofar Governorate and the state of Masirah, and announced the facilitation of citizens ’requests to travel abroad through air ports.

The Committee stated in a statement after its meeting yesterday, that it had seen the marked increase in the number of deaths and injuries, and that, while expressing its concern about this increase, it calls on all citizens and residents to exercise utmost care and caution, and to adhere to the precautionary measures that would reduce the rise in injuries and deaths .

She added that she had seen a report on the epidemiological data in both the Dhofar Governorate and the state of Masirah, which were closed in light of the precautionary measures, and decided to continue their closure until further notice.

The committee discussed the citizens' requests to travel abroad through the air ports, and agreed to facilitate this, provided that they abide by the precautionary controls established or any controls that will be issued in the future from the competent authorities.

In addition, the Omani Ministry of Health announced that 1389 new cases of corona virus were recorded, bringing the total number of cases registered in the Sultanate to 59 thousand and 568 cases, as the total deaths reached 273 cases, while 37 thousand and 987 cases of recovery were the same.
