While players will wear social justice messages on the back of their shirts during the NBA revival, Anthony Davis has decided, just like his Lakers star teammate LeBron James, to keep his name, he announced on Sunday .

"I think the name 'Davis' is something I try to represent every time I step on the floor," said Lakers interior, selected seven times at All- Star Game.

"I just think my last name is very important to me, but also to social justice," added Davis.

In preparation for the resumption of the NBA championship on July 30 in a "bubble" at Disney World in Orlando (Florida), the league allowed players to carry messages from a list of thirty slogans, such as Black Lives Matter, I Can't Breathe, Justice, Peace, Equality, Freedom or Anti-Racist.

LeBron James announced on Saturday that he had decided to stay "James", hinting that he would have liked to have a say in these messages.

"I don't need to have something on the back of my jersey for people to understand my mission or know who I am and what I do," he said.
