US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed his desire to maintain a dialogue with North Korea during a telephone conference with media on Monday (local time).

"I don't want to comment on an ongoing conversation with either party," South Korea's media question asked Pompeio whether the third North American summit could be held before the US presidential election in November.

Pompeo did not specifically explain what the'in-progress conversation' is.

"The United States is very hopeful that it will continue to talk with North Korea," he said, with the intention that the dialogue may be lower than the summit and, if appropriate, senior leaders reunite.

However, Minister Pompeo said, "I don't want to talk about who will do it, how to do it, and when."
