In detail, the statistics showed that there has been a decrease in the number of citizen deaths in road accidents during the past three years, as it decreased to 110 cases last year, compared to 111 cases in 2018 and 134 cases in 2017, while injuries recorded a decrease from 1515 cases in 2017, to 1212 Cases in 2018, but it rose again last year, recording 1354 cases.
People of Asian nationalities topped the list of the most victims of traffic accidents over the past three years, at the state level, recording 318 deaths and 2891 injuries in 2017, 262 deaths and 2547 injuries in 2018, 263 deaths and 2929 injuries last year. Traffic accidents deaths and injuries of Arab nationalities decreased significantly between 2017 and 2019 at the state level, with 55 deaths and 953 injuries recorded in 2017, 61 deaths and 903 injuries in 2018, then 47 deaths and 987 injuries last year. The number of victims of traffic accidents from the GCC countries decreased, with 18 deaths and 160 injuries recorded in 2017, compared to 11 deaths and 130 injuries in 2018, six deaths and 136 injuries, last year.
The Ministry and traffic departments enumerated the most prominent causes of traffic accidents, and were represented by sudden deviation, neglect and lack of attention, and reversing without verifying the clearness of the road, excessive speed, traveling in reverse direction, crossing the red signal, entering a main road without ensuring that it is clear, and not adhering to the itinerary, And not to leave the safety distance between the vehicles, and not to make way for ambulance and civil defense vehicles, in addition to the lack of appreciation of the road users.

560,000 people benefited from traffic awareness, which was implemented by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police last year, as part of a proactive awareness plan aimed at reducing drivers' violations, reducing traffic accidents, and the resulting deaths and severe injuries.

A previous police study revealed that 70% of the deaths of runaway accidents in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are of Asian nationalities, and that 25% of these accidents take place between six and nine in the evening, and 18% between six and nine in the morning.
