So you avoid being hit by lightning.

But all night's flashes did not strike the ground. Some walked between the clouds but they also give moles and light shines. In total, the thunderstorms of the night caused 640 lightnings across the county.

- It's a record for this year, it was a heavy thunderstorm with a lot of rain.

Here on SMHI's website you can see where the lightning strikes happen in Stockholm.

Lightning struck in garage door

Despite the large number of flashes, the weather caused no major damage.

In Stuvsta, the blaze caused a fire in a garage door. In Huddinge, emergency services were allowed to move out to a villa after a smoke smell alarm.

"The lightning struck in a tree and the energy followed the roots of the trees that gave burn marks in the ground to the house," says Mikael Nygren, Södertörn's fire chief of operations.

No forest fires

On Monday, the rescue services had received no information that the lightning caused some fires in forests in the ground.

- It is not until after lunch that weather conditions for fires are optimal. It is when the sun is in the late afternoon, in the afternoon, that the conditions are better for the fire to increase in strength. The fire is like a living thing, it follows the clock and calms down at night, says Mikael Nygren.
