With the first weekend of heat, up to 36 degrees, the heat wave forecasting system by the Ministry of Health also starts. If high temperatures, according to experts, should help to slow down the infections, they still pose an additional risk to health, especially for the elderly, chronically ill, pregnant women and infants. 

This year the planning of prevention activities, the ministry clarifies in a circular sent to Municipalities, Regions and Civil Protection, "is particularly relevant in relation to the COVID-19 epidemic and its evolution in the coming months. Consequently, the related activities by 2020 they will be remodeled taking into account the concomitant risk linked to the ongoing epidemic, with particular regard to the most vulnerable population subgroups ".

In particular, on Sunday 28 June in Bologna and neighboring municipalities temperatures are expected that could rise up to 36 degrees. The Bolognese Ausl has activated the relevant health services.

For the elderly, a particularly fragile segment of the population, the e-Care support plan is active with weekly calls and any home assistance.
